The Milliken Breakfast Show

The star-studded Milliken breakfast show in the Grand Ballroom was an annual highlight of my life in New York, especially in 1977 when Gloria Swanson appeared, and she stole the show!

Gloria Swanson said she had agreed to do the show because she was once in the dress business. “I’m crazy about fabrics,” she said, “and besides, I didn’t have any excuse when they asked me.”

After the 1975 show I found myself standing next to Tommy Tune on Park Avenue and feeling quite short.
