Seeing the History First Hand
A Waldorf Story by Eric Parsons

I’ve worked as an ironworker for 13 years on some of the most iconic buildings in New York City, including many of the buildings in the World Trade Center, the Oculus, and One Vanderbilt. The Waldorf Astoria is the first historic renovation project, and so it’s been a totally different experience because we can see the history firsthand – we’ve found a number of artifacts onsite, including a spud wrench, a silver spoon, and even some unopened beer cans from the 1930’s. It’s like a Waldorf Astoria time capsule. I’m glad to be part of the next chapter of the Waldorf legacy.
